What's in the FL Studio pack

Ten presets in seven categories, delivered as FL Studio mixer presets (.fst). FL Studio’s stock mixer plugins only, so nothing extra to install. Each .fst holds the full insert chain: EQ, compression, de-essing, saturation, delay and reverb where the preset calls for it.

FL Studio on Windows or Mac. The presets use plugins included with FL Studio; if your edition lacks one, that slot shows as missing and the rest of the chain still loads.

How to install vocal presets in FL Studio

Quick answer: Browser → Presets → Mixer presets → right-click “Mixer presets” → Open → drag the .fst files in → load them from the Mixer.

   Download and unzip the pack

   Get the pack with the form above. Inside the zip, open the folder named "Vocal Magic - Starter Pack - FL Studio". Every preset is an .fst mixer preset.

   Find the Mixer presets folder from inside FL Studio

   Open the Browser (View → Browser, or Alt+F8). Go to Presets → Mixer presets. Right-click "Mixer presets" and choose Open (or Open in system, depending on your version). FL opens the exact folder on your computer, so there is no path to guess.

   Drag the preset folder in

   Drag the whole "VOCAL MAGIC - Starter Pack" folder into the window FL opened. The category folders become sub-menus in the Mixer.

   Load a preset on your vocal insert

   Open the Mixer (F9) and select the insert your vocal is routed to. Click the small arrow at the top right of the mixer, go to Mixer presets → VOCAL MAGIC - Starter Pack and click a preset. The full chain loads onto that insert.

   Set the input and adjust to your voice

   Get the raw vocal peaking around -6 dBFS on the insert before the chain. Then open the EQ in the chain and adjust to your voice, and save your version as a new mixer preset.

If the presets don't show up

• Presets do not show up: restart FL Studio. The Browser refreshes on launch.
• Still zipped: make sure the .fst files are unzipped, not sitting inside a .zip.
• Wrong folder: go back to Browser → Presets → Mixer presets → right-click → Open and confirm that is where the files landed.
• A slot shows a missing plugin: your FL Studio edition does not include that plugin. The rest of the chain still works.

Which FL Studio versions work?

Any current FL Studio on Windows or Mac. The presets are standard .fst mixer presets, the same format FL uses for its own factory mixer presets.

Do the presets work in every FL Studio edition?

They use plugins that ship with FL Studio. If your edition does not include a plugin used by a preset, that slot shows as missing and the rest of the chain still loads.

Can I drag the preset onto the insert instead?

Yes. Once the files are in the Mixer presets folder, they also appear in the Browser and you can drag an .fst straight onto a mixer insert.

Are the presets really free?

Will a preset make my vocal sound professional on its own?

A preset is a finished chain, not a finished mix. Record cleanly at a sensible level, pick the category that matches your voice and genre, then adjust the EQ and the compressor threshold to your recording. The free vocal analyzer will tell you which band is off if you are unsure.
