The ground rules

The Short Version
By using musicbymattie.com or my plugins you agree to these terms. Buy a product, it's yours to use forever in your own music. Plugins activate with your email and work on up to 3 of your computers. Don't redistribute or resell anything. Free tools are provided as-is. I sometimes link to products I use and earn a commission if you buy through those links. Be cool, and we're good.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using musicbymattie.com ("the Site") or any MBM Audio plugin, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Music By Mattie and MBM Audio are run by Tasty Peach Media LLC, a Colorado, USA company ("I", "me"). If you don't agree, please don't use the Site or the plugins. I may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
2. Products & Licensing
Digital Products
Products sold on this site (presets, plugins, courses, sample packs, etc.) are licensed to you for personal and commercial use in your own music productions. When you purchase a product, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use it.
What You Can Do
- Use products in unlimited personal and commercial music projects
- Use products in songs you release, stream, perform, or sell
- Install products on computers you personally own (plugins that use activation work on up to 3 at a time)
- Use products in client work and productions made for others
What You Cannot Do
- Resell, redistribute, or share downloaded product files
- Include products in competing preset packs, sample libraries, or plugin bundles
- Claim ownership of the products or reverse-engineer them
- Get around, disable, or tamper with plugin activation or trial limits
- Share your account credentials or transfer your license to another person
Plugin Activation
Some plugins activate with the email you bought them with. Each license works on up to 3 computers at a time, and you can deactivate a computer to move the license to a new one. The plugin needs to go online now and then to check in and keep the license current. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the license for that purchase ends.
Free Trials
Some plugins offer a free 14-day trial with every feature included. You get one trial per plugin, per person and per computer. When the trial ends, you'll need a license to keep using the plugin. Anything you make during the trial is yours.
Rent-to-Own
Some plugins may be offered as rent-to-own: a set number of monthly payments, shown at checkout. When the last payment goes through, the license is yours permanently. You can cancel at any time. If payments stop before then, the license stops working 7 days after the missed payment.
Lifetime Access
All purchases include lifetime access and free updates. You can re-download your products at any time from your customer dashboard.
3. Free Resources & Downloads
Free products (presets, magic.METER, downloads) are provided at no cost and are subject to the same licensing terms as paid products. You may use them in your own productions but may not redistribute the original files. Access to free resources may require providing your email address.
4. Free Tools
Tools like the Vocal Analyzer, magic.METER, Delay & Reverb Calculator, and Vocal Production Checklist are provided free of charge as a resource for the music production community. These tools are provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind.
Vocal Analyzer
The Vocal Analyzer processes audio entirely in your browser. Results are measurements compared against reference data and should be treated as a starting point, not a definitive assessment. Every mix is different, and the tool's recommendations are suggestions to guide your workflow, not absolute rules. First use is free; subsequent use requires a free account.
5. Courses & Educational Content
Online courses are licensed for your personal educational use. You may not record, screenshot, or redistribute course content. Course access is tied to your account and is non-transferable. Blog posts and free tutorials may be shared via link but not reproduced in full.
6. Accounts
You may create an account using email/password or Google sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. I reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If you'd like to delete your account, email me at [email protected].
7. Payments & Refunds
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record for your order and handles payment, sales tax or VAT, and your invoice; its buyer terms also apply to the payment. Some earlier orders were processed by LemonSqueezy in the same way. Prices are listed in USD unless otherwise noted, and tax may be added at checkout depending on where you live. 8. Affiliate Links & Recommendations
Some links on this site are affiliate links. This means if you click through and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This applies to links to third-party products, plugins, gear, and services that I personally use or recommend.
Affiliate relationships never influence the honesty of my recommendations. I only link to products I genuinely use and believe in. If something isn't worth your money, I won't recommend it regardless of commission.
Common affiliate partners include plugin companies, audio gear manufacturers, DAW developers, and music production tool providers. When a link is an affiliate link, I may note it where appropriate, but you should assume any outbound product link could be an affiliate link.
It works the other way too: creators in my creators program may earn a commission when you buy my products through their links. Creators in the program must clearly tell their audience that they earn a commission, as the FTC requires.
9. Reviews
If you leave a review, please make it your honest opinion of a product you've used. By submitting it, you let me show it, including your rating, text, artist name, and any audio clip you add, on the Site and in my marketing, and reply to it publicly. I may decline or remove reviews that are spam, off-topic, abusive, or include someone else's personal information, but I never remove a review because it's negative. You can ask me to take your review down at any time.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this site and in my products (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, audio, video, software, and design) is owned by Tasty Peach Media LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Music By Mattie, MBM Audio, and the magic plugin names are my brands. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from site content without written permission.
11. User Conduct
By using this site, you agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the site's functionality
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
This site and all products, tools, and content are provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. I do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved from using my products or tools. Music production results depend on many factors beyond the scope of any single product or tool.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tasty Peach Media LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, products, or tools. Total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product in question.
14. Third-Party Links & Services
This site contains links to third-party websites and services. I am not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of external sites. Visiting third-party links is at your own risk, and you should review their terms and privacy policies independently.
15. Changes to These Terms
I may modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
16. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the site shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived, including the laws of the country where you live.
